The IOMHUA in association with North Hockey, have launched their own web site at www.iomhua.org

This website will be the reference point for all umpiring appointments. Clubs are requested to provide feedback on the umpires via their Club Accounts and Umpires will provide feedback on their umpiring experience via their Individual Accounts.

This has been a significant investment by the IOMHUA in terms of money and time and it is hoped that this in conjuction with the local umpire coaching initiative will help in the development of the umpiring in the Isle of Man.

A new attachment has been added with some umpiring tips from Chris Todd, one of the top umpires of recent years.

There is also a link to the FIA Rules of hockey video library where a number of short clips with explanations can be found. Follow this link

2011 Isle of Man Sports Awards

The 2011 Isle of Man Sports awards are due to be held at the Villa Marina on 29th March 2012.

To make a nomination please email Pauline.Carr@msr.dtl.gov.im. by the end of January with details of your nominee plus a short description of why they should receive their award.

Sportswoman of the Year
Disabled Sportsperson
Sports Administrator
IOM Ambassador
Coach
Team
U21 Sportsman
U21 Sportswoman

Kit Gawne, a life member of both Valkyrs Hockey Club and the Manx Hockey Association, has compiled a history of local hockey. Simply entitled ‘Isle of Man Hockey’, this unique book reveals the tremendous progress the sport has made over the years, coming a long way from the ancient rural game of cammag. Copies can be obtained from clubs at a price of £12 or by post at £13 including p&p. E-mail Graham Crowe for details. Copies can also be ordered on-line from the Lexicon Bookhop
